Lovely walks, bit scary when big dogs are off leads and come bounding over but I'm lucky my girl is friendly x

A local spot for me. A wide open space in the bend of the River Nidd, accessed over a bridge from Conyngham Hall car park or cross High Bridge, opposite entrance to Mother Shiptons through Foolish Wood on the other side of the river at the start of the Beryl Burton Cycle way at Bilton Field. A great place to give the dog a run and a paddle in the river and for a family picnic. Look out for Kingfishers.

Lovely place for a picnic by the river and free parking

Lovely place lots of people walking dogs.families having picnic

A beautiful place to walk, especially with dogs who like water. Shallow areas as well as deeper parts. Caution needs to be exercised on parts of the water, especially after heavy rainfall as can have very strong currents. Horseshoe fields links up with longer walks along public footpaths that are signposted. Parking very good but traffic wardens are keen so check the signs. Parking costs are cheaper in winter. Picnic benches, bins and dog bins available in parts.
